General Hospital | Jane Elliot’s final episode

Warning: This article contains spoilers from a recent episode.

When it was announced in March that Jane Elliot was leaving General Hospital and retiring from acting, we thought we might have months to savor her delicious portrayal of Tracy Quartermaine. At last, on May 4th was her last airdate. Emotional and raw. That is what she was given quite a few times in the last few months. From reading that letter Edward wrote about that painting, to the powerful last scene when she was knocked out cold and had to relive the worst of her life, presided by Judge Sonny Corinthos no less. I find it’s a shame that it’s at the end of her journey that she finally recognizes that Monica is more a sister to her then an enemy, that she finally found friends win Finn, Hayden and Laura. How many other adventures can she and Laura been entangled with. But the sweet surprise was Anthony Geary’s appearance in the last minutes and the very surprised look Tracy had on her face.

Have we really seen the last of Tracy? Would Jane Elliot ever agree to return for special appearances? We certainly hope so.

For those of you who have not seen it, or want to witness it again. Here is the poignant reading of the letter Edward left her.
