An inmate being released from jail is brutally murdered before getting out. When Jane and Maura arrive at the scene, the man is dead. However a familiar and horrifying voice in the same room reveals Voight. He reveals that he his dying and wants to talk to Jane and Maura alone to confess a bad thing. Jane works double to find the murderer for the inmate (who she now suspects that is him) and the one of a missing family of over a decade ago. Jane is later notified that he his in his final moments and wants to confess all his crimes. However it’s an ambush and both Maura and Jane are in danger. Turns out the guard was his newest apprendice.
