The episode begins with a gang shooting of a nice man, who many admired. A witness is willing to testify and Jane does everything to protect him. However, he his killed and body dumped to make statement. The lawyers for the bad guy wants the case thrown out cause they have no witness, however they argue they have the weapon, but the lawyers says that Detective Korsak lied about how he found the weapon. The judge gives Korsak two days to give up the CI. He refuses. He his later asked to either give up the CI or lose the badge, he decides to lose the badge. Jane does some investigating of her own and finds the CI.
