Transplant takes place in a fictional Canadian hospital. However, don’t be fooled about the title, it does not involved medical tranplants. However, I won’t reveal the true meaning of the title until you have at least watched the pilot episode.
The story centers around Doctor Bashir Hamed (played by Hamza Haq), who is a doctor from Syria, who came to Canada to escape the horrors in his home country. He rapidly becomes entangled with other doctors at the hospital. He must everyday fight racism and false information about his country and who he is.
Also starring on the show, Stargate Atlantis vet Torri Higginson as Claire Malone and Laurence Leboeuf who plays Dr. Magalie Leblanc, who also has her own secrets.
The show is amazing, the cast is compelling and the main actor, Hamza Haq, is relatable in so many ways.
The show has already been renewed for a second season on CTV, and NBC also picked up the second season of the show.
