In this fun and confusing episode, Dal and his group of mischief-makers continue to plot the rescue of Chakotay and reverse the effects of the new timeline that has Gwyn in danger. Determined to set things right, they locate the planet, or at least the area where it should be. Rok, always the voice of reason, wants them to inform Janeway of their findings. However, the rest of the group decides against it, fearing that Janeway might stop them due to the mission’s dangers. Instead, they plan on stealing the Infinity again to execute their daring rescue.
Their plan hits a snag when they learn that Starfleet has ordered the Infinity to be destroyed the following day. Panic sets in, but Jankom, always resourceful, reveals that he has created holographic versions of themselves. His plan is for the holograms to take their place, allowing the real crew to save the timeline without anyone noticing their absence.
Initially, the plan seems foolproof. However, things take a chaotic turn when the holograms, with the unintentional help of Rok, start believing they are the real crew. What follows is a series of confusing and hilarious battles between the real crew and their holographic counterparts. Each member faces off against their double, leading to a series of comedic and action-packed confrontations.
Both versions of Rok, real and holographic, manage to put aside their differences and work together to find a solution. They determine that temporarily deactivating the holograms is the only way to regain control of the situation. With a clear plan, the real Rok succeeds in deactivating the holograms, giving the real crew a brief window of time to make their move.
With only a few minutes to spare, they beam aboard the Infinity, just as Starfleet is about to commence the destruction sequence. Admiral Janeway and the rest of the crew are led to believe that the ship has been destroyed, unaware of the real crew’s presence aboard the cloaked vessel. This ruse buys Dal and his team the time they need to execute their plan without interference.
Rok reactivates the holograms to maintain their cover. However, something goes wrong, and the holograms are not quite okay. They malfunction, exhibiting strange behaviors and causing further confusion.
The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with the crew still aboard the Infinity, ready to face whatever dangers lie ahead. Their determination to save Chakotay and restore the timeline is unwavering, setting the stage for an epic continuation of their adventure.
