As Gwyn settles into her new reality, Janeway must uncover the reasons behind the mission failure and identify those responsible, understanding the repercussions of their actions. The crew members involved now have restricted access, and Janeway orders The Doctor to monitor them closely. Dal remains determined to find the Protostar and Chakotay, despite Rok’s insistence that it’s a bad idea. Murf draws an image that Gwyn once saw in the caves, sparking the crew’s curiosity about Murf’s knowledge. They attempt to communicate with him but struggle until Rok suggests having Murf meet the whales. Through this, they receive the message “Find Me” along with coordinates.
Gwyn activates a sequence on her arm bracelet and, upon her return, reveals that the sign Murf drew was actually a map. Meanwhile, Admiral Jellico (Ronny Cox) orders Janeway to close the wormhole. Chakotay had given Janeway a special stone matching Murf’s drawing. Despite Janeway’s protests, the wormhole is destroyed, leaving her disheartened.
