A 15 year black boy is found dead in an ally and Maura is unable to determine the cause of death. Jane meets the mother who says that the devil was in his son. Later on, they discover that an ex-con now priest performed and exorcism on the boy and believes that this was the cause of death. In the meantime, Jane’s mother arranges for a dinner with Jane’s boss. Things don’t go well and she storms out. Jane is threaten with snakes in her car. Jane and Maura go to the church to observe the ritual and a fire bomb is thrown in. While dreaming, she see’s the dead boy and he hands her a purple plant. With this clue, they are able to find out that the boy was poisoned and that the boys step-mom was the killer. At the end of the episode, Lieutenant Grant, the boss Jane hates, confesses he had a crush on her and that he is living for good. This was the final episode that Donnie Wahlberg was in.
