Chief Boden delivers the news that everyone passed the drug test, allowing a moment of relief to wash over them. But even in this moment of unity, personal issues continue to simmer beneath the surface. Casey, still shaken by the day’s events, confides in his girlfriend Hallie Thomas (Teri Reeves) that he’s ready to start a family, only to be met with uncertainty as Hallie admits she’s not sure if she wants children. The conversation leaves their future together in doubt, adding to Casey’s already heavy burden.
Meanwhile, Joe Cruz’s day ends on a somber note as he goes to pick up his brother, only to find that he has left without a word. The sense of loss and worry is palpable, as Joe realizes he may be losing his brother in more ways than one. As if the emotional stakes weren’t high enough, Clarice reappears at Shay’s doorstep, confessing that she doesn’t love her husband and reigniting old feelings that Shay had tried to move past.
