Season 1, Episode 3 of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, titled “The Witch,” begins with Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) expressing her desire to join the cheerleading squad, hoping for a taste of normalcy. In a bid to stop the chaos, Buffy and her friends discover that Amy is using witchcraft to get revenge. They rush to Amy’s house, only to find that Amy has swapped bodies with her mother. In the final act, Buffy and her friends manage to find a magic book, reverse the spell, and send Amy’s mother back to her own body, ending the witchcraft nightmare. The episode ends with the realization that Amy’s dark journey is far from over.
